Car of the Day - Rolls Royce Phantom

I have already done a post on the 3 series Gran Turismo which came out yesterday but that wasnt the only car. Yesterday was also the release date to the Rolls Royce Phantom Series Ii. The car will be priced from £285,000 to £320,000 and even though it looks the same, it is still a very nice car.

Car of the Day - Lotus Esprit

I am sorry this post is a bit late because it was meant for yesterday but I was completely busy yesterday.

The latest car to come out is the Lotus Esprit. The car that starred as James Bonds amphibious car in The Spy Who Loved me has been updated. So as you can guess, it is QUITE A CAR if James Bond used one in his movie. Maybe there is something good like that in this models future? We'll just have to wait and see…

Car of the Day - BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo

Today is quite a busy day in the car industry because today sees the arrival of 6 new cars although in this post I am writing about the brand new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo. This car is quite exciting because unlike 3 Series saloon which is has been around for quite a while; this model of it has never been seen before.

BMW started in 2010 with its 5 Series Gran Turismo which was quite a gamble of a car because it was almost in a different class of its own which meant something like that had never been seen before. It was also a gamble because it was too much like the 7 Series which meant that if you wanted a big 5 Series, you would get a 5 Series Touring but if you wanted a luxurious BMW, You would get a 7 Series. However BMW thought it was a good car and then made this the next Gran Turismo to come along for BMW. The point of a Gran Turismo is that it is a lot more luxurious than the standard model (saloon) and unlike the 5 Series GT, this one is a small luxurious BMW which meant it has a smaller chance of being overshadowed by another BMW model which, of course, is good.

Thought For The Day

My thought is, if you could have any car in the entire world, what would it be?

Car of the Day - Mercedes E-Class Coupe/Cabriolet

Following the arrival of the saloon and estate version earlier this year, it is now time for the new E-Class coupe and cabriolet to complete the E-Class family. The E-Class has been the mid-sized Mercedes saloon for years now with additions of the estate, coupe and cabriolet and Mercedes have yet again given it a fresher look. when you think the E-Class can’t get any better with its air-matic suspension, dashing looks and impeccable quality, it almost seems impossible to improve it but Mercedes always find a way how. The new coupe and cabriolet versions look fresher and more updated inside and out. The new ones have sharper lines and bigger vents at the front giving it a 'meaner ‘look. It is truly a car for the businessmen/women looking for a 'speed thrill' on their way to work.

Car of the Day-Vauxhall Cascada

As I promised yesterday, I would start a new column called Car of the Day and as a man of my word, I have kept the promise.

Today is the turn of the classy Vauxhall Cascada. I am not usually a fan of Vauxhalls but this one is one that I like. It has stylish lines, a plush interior and a fresh feel. The Cascada is a replacement for the Astra twin-top. The twin-top was tired, boring and not very nice looking, but since the new Astra came out a while back and has just received a face lift, it was the prime opportunity for Vauxhall to re-design the car, and I would say they have done a good job.

Unfortunately, the next new car doesn't come out until the 15th which means that I can't add another Car of the Day column for a while, but that doesn't mean I won't keep posting, so stay tuned for more 'car talk'.

How's this for an April fools?

As you might know, yesterday was April 1st which means 'April Fools' and this year BMW decided to try one out. They made an advert for something they call the BMW P.R.A.M (Postnatal Royal Auto Mobile) which as you can guess spells pram. It is meant to be a 'posh pram' which has an engine called N.A.P.P.I.E which means Nanny Assisting Petrol Powered Injection Engine.

So there you go, happy April Fools from BMW.

VIST, VISIT, VISIT

Lately, I have been very tired and feeling very lazy which meant I didn’t post many posts, but now I am glad to say, I am over that phase and I am trying to post more which means that there is a lot more car entertainment on its way, so look out for it and tell your friends all about it and get involved in the world of cars!!!

I have finally decided to make more of an effort to post more now after my lazy craze' which I am sorry for, and I am now starting a new 'post blast' which is where I will tell you about the cars that come out on that day.

Today is the turn of the Ford Fiesta ST. It has got a turbo charged 1.6 litre engine which has got 180BHP packed under the bonnet.

Review of the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class

Whilst the new A-Class looks the part, it certainly doesn't feel the part. The A-Class feels so cramped and small it makes its little brother, The Smart Car, feel like a bus. This is mainly down to the lack of visibility. The A-Class has extremely small windows giving the effect you are in a cave. Therefore, if you have to do a tight parallel park, you better hope luck is on your side. Apart from it being too cramped and dark, it also has chronically hard seats (usually harder on sports models), making the owner feels, as soon as they get into it, they want to get straight out again! The A-Classes space has to account for this because in such a small car, you can't afford to waste space with big, comfy seats. Now I come to think about it, I think I have sat on comfier bikes!

The former A-Classes have been quite tall, practical and smooth. BUT WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS ONE???? The new one is very low down and way too small. The last one could fit a family of 4 very comfortably or a family of 5 a bit less comfortably (only in the back) but this one seats up to 5 but none of them will be in comfort. It also isn't the best car for practicality. The boot is quite small and the way the boot is shaped makes the opening very tight meaning you will have a struggle getting a big box in and then getting it out again. The ride and handling on this one is sloppy too. The ride is a bit firm and choppy and the handling can feel a bit lifeless.

Now don't get me wrong, I have been harsh on the A-Class but in actual fact the A-Class isn't all bad. After all, it is a Mercedes and they know a thing or two when it comes to luxury. Even though they missed out on having luxurious seats, it is the most basic car they make and you have to applaud them to a certain extent because they have tried to take a leaf out of BMW'S books by combining luxury and sports, so having firm seats are what you would expect. I just think they aren't for me or the rest of Mercedes main/general target buyers. With options for heated seats, all-electric windows, electric seats and lot more, the A-Class comes as standard with some sneaky yet useful storage compartments. It also has a centre armrest which can be moved backward and forwards. (I really like that feature). You will also get quite a few glances at you whilst crushing down the town because as I said, the A-Class is a great looking car. This new A-Class looks particularly different because the previous A-Classes have had the sandwich effect which is where there are two hollowed out floors meaning when you crash the engine goes under you not into you. This gave the A-Class a high cabin and a flat front but because the new one doesn't have it, it has allowed them to give the A-Class a completely new look and a lower ride and cabin.

The A-Class engine sizes are a 180CDI, 180 petrol, 200CDI, 200 petrol and a 250 petrol. There are rumours for a 450 AMG A-Class as well.

Overall, The A-Class is quite firm and uncomfortable but still has a few tricks up its sleeve. It is a good looking car but needs to have work done to its seats and ride. The A-Class gets a 5/10 from me. Therefore, if what you want is a small, sporty, nippy car that will get you some looks and is made by Mercedes, get the A-Class although I would personally save up for a bit longer and get the practical, stylish and slightly comfier B-Class.
